Gary Walton and his wife Faith live in Grand Rapids, MI, where Gary serves on the administrative team at Bibles International.
Gary has a great passion for God’s church! Growing up in a pastor's home and being a part of vibrant churches fostered a special love for the local church - its shepherds, leaders and mission. He served as the Senior Pastor at Brookdale Baptist Church, Moorhead, MN, for 13 years. During these years, God’s gracious hand was on the ministry, and they experienced an exciting period of growth and blessing. In June of 2013, God led the Waltons to partner with Bibles International where Gary is serving as the Interim Director.
Gary received his ministry training in the home of a godly pastor/father, as well as at Northland Baptist Bible College and Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Minneapolis. He counts his dad - Dennis Walton, Les Ollila, Ernest Pickering, Doug McLachlan and Raymond Buck as ministry mentors and significant influences in shaping his love for the church, missions and effective ministry.
In 25 years of ministry service, the Waltons have directed college and campus ministries at Fourth Baptist Church, Minneapolis, and the University of Minnesota; Gary has two stints of coaching high school basketball, and served three years in development and stewardship for a Christian school.
The Waltons have 5 children; a son and daughter-in-law teaching in Thailand (Matt and Bryn), a daughter in grad school (Amanda); two in college (Tyler and Kara), and one in middle school (Emily). Their family loves adventures of all sorts, athletics of all kinds, reading on many levels, and being together!
